Scaled this hair-care, single-product ecom store from $0 to $26,952.89 in sales in Just 22 days.
I have got this awesome single-product hair-care store. We launched it in late April 2023. And guess what? We've seen some serious growth, like a whopping 100% increase in numbers! I am talking about $26,952.89 in sales from 20,443 sessions.
But hey, we're not without our challenges. Right now, we're trying to optimize our average order value (AOV). The thing is, our AOV is at $31.46, and our product is priced at $25. Add in the shipping fee of $5-6, and we're trying to figure out how to bump up that AOV without freaking out our customers.
It's not easy, though. Our product doesn't really lend itself to repeat purchases, so we can't rely on the usual tactics like bundling or upselling. If you're going through the same struggle, you gotta check out Carl's stuff. He's got some seriously helpful content on the topic. Trust me, it's worth a look.
🚴🏻♀️Wlarm-up:
When we first started, we didn't want to spend a ton of cash to splash on FB ads. We started with a modest budget of $30-40/ day, just to get the ball rolling. Our goal was to break the ice of the pixel with our fb ads. At the same time, we decided to team up with some small-scale influencers. These guys and gals had follower counts ranging from 5,000 to 20,000, and they charged us anywhere from 50 to 100 bucks.
But man, working with these micro-influencers really paid off!
- First off, we saw a major boost in traffic. And not just any traffic, mind you. We're talking about traffic that actually converted into sales. Some of these influencers were responsible for bringing in 10-20 sales, and sometimes even a crazy 50 sales! Can you believe it?
- But that's not all. The best part was the user-generated content (UGC) these influencers created. It wasn't like those obviously paid promotions you see with big-time influencers who charge an arm and a leg. Nah, this UGC felt real, relatable, and authentic.
- And you know what we did? We took that awesome UGC and used it as material for our Facebook ads. Boom! Instant credibility for our new store!

But here's the deal: don't expect to copy-paste this exact case study and get the same results. Success depends on a bunch of factors, and you gotta adapt the strategies to fit your own needs. Just keep that in mind, alright?
